Top 10 Android Phones in Philippines Today

Nobody would have thought it. How could a such trendsetter goliath as big as Nokia fall? But it did. Thanks to poor vision and Android.

Today, you could still see a lot of Nokia phones being lobbied around. It’s still an everyday device, no doubt. But it has taken a secondary role, a backseat so to speak and is used solely for texting and once-in-a-blue-moon calling. When the topic turns into the internet and getting logged unto the world wide web, you’re bound to bump into the new ‘King of the Jungle’: Android.

Fact is, in the 3rd Quarter of 2013, over 70% of smartphones were running on Android. In number that’s about 80 billion units, roughly 50 billion more than iOS-devices, according to TechRepublic.com. Sorry, Steve Jobs, no offense.

Which begs the question: Which is the most popular Android phones for Pinoys today? In the Philippines, the answer to that is top functionality yet manageable affordability. Here goes:

Now, all that’s left is for you to ready your credit card or go the more painful method via cold cash!

If you’re serious into buying a quad-core phone, this one should be part of your list of options. Granting you want to get the most out of your hard-earned cash. One of the stand-out points of this guy is its long-lasting performance, equipped with a superior battery. And of course, its flauntsa Jelly Bean Android 4.1 OS with a 1GB of RAM. Now who said quality is expensive hasn’t seen this power-packed device!

Yes, least I forget this one is razor-thin at 7.7mm thickest. And along with its powerful quad-core CPU is a whooping 1GB RAM. Top that. With a Dragontail glass display at less than 7K, this is one Cherry Mobile buy for the books!

#6. Cherry Mobile Thunder 2 : Price: Php 6,299

Hands on, this is by far one of the greatest, if not the greatest, offering Cherry Mobile has unleashed in the Philippine market today. With front and back camera, 2MP and 8MP respectively, 5” display and a 1.2 GHz Quad Core CPU processor, this one is a real winner! Just don’t expect to play Need for Speed or Most Wanted…

#5. Arc Mobile Memo : Price: Php 6,150

This could be the closest thing you can get to a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. But at a very affordable price. A flagship product, the 5.3-inch quad-core Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean phablet, complete with an 8-megapixel autofocus camera, 2 Megapixel front cam for starters, is a heaven-sent for every Juan.

Don’t look now but this quad-core CPU, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean smartphone has got 1GB RAM. And for less than 6K. This device is sure to give Cherry Mobile more teeth to their rapidly increasing momentum. Many people would have not believed the price of this one, they thought the company is going nuts!

Fitted with a quad-core CPU, a 4.5-inch display and a useful 512MB RAM, this is one Android 4.2 Jelly Bean Php 5,999 buy you will never regret. This was due to launch December of 2013 but the company was unable to make their move in time.
