Timeless beauty indeed never fades. Once again, Palawan proved to the world how beautiful it is by moving from the sixth spot last year to the second spot this year. This honor is given by theNew York based international travel magazine, Travel +Leisure Magazine.Following Sri Lanka with 92.12, the “perennially popular” Palawan lauded with a score of 90.87 because for its notable beautiful coastlines. It can be recalled that the island was voted as the best island in the world in 2013 and 2017. No wonder, one reader called Palawan as the “single most beautiful place I have ever seen”.”
The World’s Best Awards is a travel awards program run by Travel + Leisure based on the annual survey that they give to their readers. It was made open from November 6, 2018 to March 4, 2019 through its magazine, T+L tablet editions, newsletters, social media, and website (travelandleisure.com). Readers were asked to rate airlines, airports, car rental agencies, cities, cruise ships, destination spas, hotels, hotel brands, islands, tour operators, and safari outfitters.
Alongside Palawan, some of the Philippine’s best islands also made it to the magazine’s list of Top 10 Islands in Asia – Cebu raked 7th and Boracy 9th. Islands were rated according to their activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness, and overall value.
