ICYMI: Teenage Filipina Gymnasts wins Gold in Europe!

Adding to the winning moments of Filipino athletes this year, two teenage Filipina gymnasts bagged five gold medals for the Philippines in the recent Magic Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics Meet in Hungary.

The thirteen-year old, Breanna Labadan from Butuan delivered a stunning performance that earned her the top spot not only once, but thrice in a row in the Junior Individual All-Around titles in Europe. She triumphed over the other competitors and brought home the gold medals during the Liptoy Cup 2019 in Slovakia (November 17), 2019 Magic Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics Meet in Hungary (November 10), and RG Friends Master Gymnastics Meet in Denmark (November 2-3).

Together with her is the sixteen-year old Cebuana, Daniela Reggie Dela Pisa, who also dominated the Senior Individual All-Around titles in Slovakia and Hungary. She earned additional two golds for the country after showcasing an impressive routine in her category.

All these achievements in the international competitiions are part of the preparations of the Philippine National Women’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Team for the SEA Games. In fact, Daniela Reggie Dela Pisa is set to come home to the Philippines and compete for the 30th Southeast Asian Games which is set on December 1 to 9 at the newly restored Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
